When is the latest I can request a refund?

You can request a refund up to 7 days before the departure date. If you purchased a one way ticket the departure date considered is the departure date of the leg of the trip you purchased your ticket for. If you purchased a round trip ticket the departure date considered is the departure date of the first leg of the trip you purchased a ticket for.

Can I transfer my ticket over to my friend?

Unfortunately no. Your ticket is linked to your name and your account so to avoid any potential confusion on trip day we do not permit ticket transfers. You will have to request a refund for your ticket and your friend will have to purchase his or her own ticket through the website.

How do refunds and cancellations work?

We get it, plans change. Our goal is to give you the flexibility you need to plan your trip while making sure our prices can stay low and there is maximum availability on the bus. Here's how refunds work:

How to request a refund:

To request a refund just send us an email at hello@shuttlehome.com with the name or order number associated with your purchase. Please specify which trip you'd like to cancel.

Restrictions:

Refunds can be requested up to 7 days before the departure date. If you purchased a one way ticket the departure date considered is the departure date of the leg of the trip you purchased your ticket for. If you purchased a round trip ticket the departure date considered is the first leg of the trip you purchased your ticket for.

Processing Fee:

To ensure maximum availability on the bus there is a $20 processing fee for all refunds to cover our third-party transaction fees and administrative support. However, if you cancel your trip within 24 hours of your purchase the processing fee is waved.

Ticket Transfers:

ShuttleHome tickets are non-transferrable. You will have to request a refund for your ticket and your friend will have to purchase his or her own ticket through the website.

Can I get a refund to turn a round trip into a one way?

Yes, if you ask for the refund before 7 days prior to departure date of the trip you'd like a refund for. However, the price will be adjusted to the one way rate and the processing fee will still apply.

Ex: $159 (what you paid for round trip) – $99 (price of one way) – $20 (refund processing fee) = $40 total refunded amount

I missed the bus, can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, the answer here is no. The busses run on a strict schedule and it’s your responsibility to be on time.

What happens if I try to board the bus after my ticket has been refunded?

Upon issuing the refund your ticket will become void and you will not be able to use it to board the bus. If you knowingly attempt to use a void ticket to board the bus you will no longer be invited on future ShuttleHome trips. Sorry we know this is harsh, but we need to know exactly how many passengers are on our trips at all times.

How and when will I receive my refund?

Refunds will be credited directly to your credit card instantly via our credit card processor Stripe. (Don't you love the future!)

How do I request a refund or exchange?

Just send us an email at hello@shuttlehome.com seven days before the departure date and we'll be happy to issue your refund.

When is the latest I can request a refund or exchange?

We get it, plans change and nobody want to be left hanging. We make refunds as easy as possible while still doing what we can to ensure maximum availability of seats for people who need them.

You can request a refund up to seven days before the departure date. If you purchased a round trip ticket and you only want to request a refund for the return trip, you can request that refund up to seven days before the return trip departure date. However, the price of the ticket will have to be adjusted to reflect the one way ticket price and our standard $20 refund fee will be administered.

How many tickets are left? Are you going to sell out?

Ah the big question. The truth is it's hard to say. There are a limited number of seats on the bus and it seems like all students intuitively buy at the exact same time.

To keep prices as low as possible our goal is to sell out the bus and in the past that has almost always been the case. To encourage people to plan ahead more we increase the ticket prices two weeks before the departure date and one week before the departure date.

If you're on the fence about buying a ticket our recommendation is to put your order in as soon as possible. If you need a refund you can request one up to 7 days before the departure date. The $20 refund fee is a much easier pill to swallow than a $450 last minute plane ticket (+ cab fare + baggage fees!).

Tickets are sold out! What do I do?

If tickets are sold out and you would like to be notified if/when a seat opens up, please email us at hello@shuttlehome.com and specify the trip and city you are interested in.

If a seat opens up on the trip you are interested in we will email you right away. However, there is no wait-list—it is first come, first serve. If you receive an email from us about an open seat, you will need go on our website (www.shuttlehome.com) to purchase the ticket before somebody else grabs it.

Keep an eye out for ticket announcements but, just in case, you should also make arrangements for alternative transportation.
